Sonnet Senior Living Facility Springs Up in San Jose
The Census Bureau’s National Demographic Analysis shows that between 2010 and 2020, the number of people older than 55 grew by 27 percent, which is 20 times larger than the growth rate of the collective population under 55 (1.3 percent). The largest driver of this divide is the Baby Boomer generation which passed the age of 65 during the past decade, increasing the size of the 65- to 74-year-old age group by a half.
Senior living facilities continue to spring up around the country in an effort to accommodate that growing 55-plus population. A recent example is Swenson’s completion of Sonnet Hill Senior Living in San Jose.
Located at 429 Meridian Ave., Sonnet Hill offers three stories of assisted living and memory care including 52 units (ranging from 360 to 525 square feet) and 78 beds. The 45,500-square-foot project includes a commercial kitchen, theater room, courtyard, salon and rejuvenation activity rooms.
Sonnet Hill Assisted Living apartments and Memory Care are currently available for rent and offer 24-hour trained care staff and full-time licensed nurses.
