SoMa Apartments Granted Approval

A new mixed-use apartment complex proposed for San Francisco’s popular SoMa neighborhood has passed an environmental-review hurdle and could start construction soon.

988 Harrison, at the corner of Sixth St. and Harrison, will feature 112 apartments, as well as 7,000 square feet of retail. The development is ideally located near the planned Central Subway. Developer Workshop1 estimates construction will take about 20 months. Based in Berkeley, Workshop1 has 621 units in its pipeline totaling $315 million.
