Solidcore Gains New Upper East Side Location

Strength training brand Solidcore has signed for the ground-floor space of an upcoming apartment building in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, as luxury fitness operators continue to flex their muscles in the city’s retail leasing market. The company leased the space at The Langdon, a high-end apartment building developed by Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners and Azur Holdings Management LLC at 288 E. 88th St.

The long-term lease measures 2,507 square feet, according to a source familiar with the deal. Solidcore’s new location is slated to open in the first quarter of 2027. JLL’s Matthew Schuss and Jesse Wolff represented the landlord in the transaction, while Sean Young of Sabre represented Solidcore.

Designed by Hill West Architects, The Langdon rises 24 stories and features 45 residences along with amenities such as a sports court and landscaped rooftop terrace. Leasing on the building officially launched in July.

Solidcore’s “loyal following, premium positioning and distinctive fitness offering will provide a valuable amenity for our residents while bringing a highly sought-after brand to this part of the Upper East Side,” said Jedd Horn, Director of Capital Markets at Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners in a statement.

Arlington, VA-based Solidcore has nearly 200 operating and announced studios across the U.S., including 17 existing New York City locations. Fitness operators are among the players contributing to strong momentum in Manhattan’s retail leasing market, along with luxury brands, restaurants and digitally native retailers, according to a report by Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) in June.
