Souave Readying for Mixed-Use Elton Park in Detroit

Souave Enterprises LLC is preparing to launch construction on its mixed-use development in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood. Dubbed Elton Park, the project will offer more than 400 apartments and thousands of square feet of retail space within a five-block area.

The first $43.8-million phase will have 150 apartments and some retail on the ground floor. Construction should begin in spring of next year, with completion set for December 2018. Part of the first phase will include a rehab of the Checker Cab building at 2128 Trumbull.

All four project phases are anticipated to cost approximately $125 million. Construction details on the next three phases have not been released. Corktown is an historic district, just west of Detroit’s CBD.
