Lender takes over Dallas' Comerica Tower

Slate Takes Over Comerica Bank Tower

Slate Asset Management, the property’s former lender, now owns Comerica Bank Tower, one of DFW’s tallest office towers. The new owners say they plan to repurpose the 60-story tower at 1717 Main Street as a mixed-use destination. Slate has more than $10 billion in assets under management.

Stream Realty Partners will help with the redevelopment and aid in leasing and operations moving forward.

The tower was designed by architect Philip Johnson. It opened in 1987.

The Dallas Morning News reports that in 2023, Woods Capital acquired a stake in Comerica Bank Tower of a “large” but unspecified size. Woods and TriGate Capital, another tower owner, planned renovations that included converting a large chunk of the building into residential units and hotel rooms.
