Slack Snags 200K SF at Shorenstein’s Transbay District Tower

Slack signed a 205,000-square-foot lease at Shorenstein’s 45 Fremont St. in San Francisco, in what would rank as the city’s third largest lease of the year. The 34-story Transbay District building is three blocks from the workplace messaging software firm’s 230,000-square-foot HQ at 500 Howard St., and could accommodate 1,000 employees.

The 600,000-square-foot asset was built in 1978 and delivers direct access to BART, Muni, and major freeway connections. It is also near the Spear Street Corridor, which provides dining and retail options.

The deal follows Pinterest’s 490,000-square-foot lease at 88 Bluxome St., and Asana’s 265,890-square-foot office lease at 633 Folsom St.

Shorenstein’s Jim Collins and Tom McDonnell handle leasing in-house for the landlord.
