SL Green Launches Portfolio-Wide COVID Testing Initiative

SL Green Realty Corp. has launched what is reportedly the first portfolio-wide COVID testing initiative in New York City. Working with New York State and City, the REIT has identified at least 21 locations that it’s making available, free of charge, for use as temporary testing centers.

“With spring approaching and the vaccination process well underway, we are implementing this innovative new testing program to make it easier for companies to return to work and expedite the recovery we know is coming,” said Marc Holliday, SL Green’s chairman and CEO. The REIT’s entire workforce has been safely back onsite since June, Holliday said.

SL Green has contracted Mobile Health for its testing locations and has negotiated preferred testing rates for all tenants within the SL Green family. All of SL Green’s nearly 900 tenants will be able to receive testing beginning April 8.
