Skyline Construction Opens West Loop Subsidiary

Accend Construction LLC, a West Loop-based subsidiary of San Francisco-based Skyline Construction, has opened its doors. Leading the new general contracting firm is industry veteran Andy MacGregor, who has led teams to build some of the Chicago market’s largest and most complex spaces, including Motorola Mobility’s headquarters at the Merchandise Mart.

Along with MacGregor’s experience, Skyline brings experience in tech, an added benefit to Chicago given the city is among the top three U.S. cities poised to be a leading tech hub, according to KPMG’s 2018 Global Technology Innovation study.

“There’s no better market for Skyline to invest in right now than Chicago, and no better person to lead the team than Andy MacGregor,” said David Hayes, Skyline’s CEO.

Accend is reportedly among the few general contractors offering an Employee Stock Option Plan. MacGregor (pictured) said the ESOP model “inspires and motivates employees to go above and beyond.”
