Skybox, Prologis Join Forces on 600MW Hutto Data Center
Skybox Datacenters and Prologis plan to build a massive 600-megawatt campus near Austin, Texas which will offer up to 4 million square feet of data center space.
The Skybox PowerCampus Austin will be located in Hutto, which is about 25 miles north of Downtown Austin, and is scheduled to begin delivering capacity in 2024. The project will be located just north of Skybox Austin I, a 30-megawatt (MW) data center facility in Pflugerville which will come online later this year.
The site is adjacent to a 345 kV transmission corridor and will offer two private 300 megawatt (MW) dedicated substations, making it one of the most scalable data center campuses in the United States.
At the PowerCampus, Austin, Skybox and Prologis plan to build 6 to 8 buildings, offering data centers sized at 24, 48 or 72 megawatts. The 72-megawatt design calls for a three-story, 700,000 square foot building.
