Skybox, Prologis Begin Phase II of Pflugerville Data Center Project
Skybox Datacenters and Prologis are wrapping up construction of a 30MW, $548 million data center in Pflugerville and are now preparing an adjacent site for a $63 million, 148,500-square-foot facility. The second phase of the companies’ master plan is scheduled to start in December and be completed next October, and it will include a one-story building for a data center and a two-story building for an office.
Skybox and Prologis have long planned to support two facilities on its campus in Pflugerville.
The Austin Business Journal reports the companies’ project is supported by two Oncor electric substations delivered via concrete encased underground duct banks. The campus is also said to include a wealth of amenities, including electric vehicle charging stations, meeting spaces and more.
Skybox and Prologis are also building the 159-acre PowerCampus Austin in Hutto. That data center campus could eventually total 3.9 million square feet across six buildings in a portion of Hutto’s “megasite,” not far from Samsung’s new factory.
