Skeeter Opens 43K-SF Facility, Plans 35 New Employees

Skeeter Products Inc., which manufactures high-performance fishing boats, has added a 43,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and plans to hire 35 people at 2606 U.S. 259 N. in Kilgore, TX. The new facility will churn out boat trailers.

Skeeter, which has been a fixture in Kilgore since 1972, outsourced trailer manufacturing. The company began creating prototypes for trailers in early 2017, and production is underway on the new product.

The company’s Senior Vice President Jeff Stone said expansion in the boat trailer category was a logical step, given the focus on vertical integration. “With the addition of Skeeter Built trailers, we are now positioned as an industry leader in delivering the total boat/trailer package,” he said.
