Skanska USA Raises $250K for Rainier Scholars

Skanska USA has raised more than $250,000 through its Bricks & Books fundraising campaign to benefit Rainier Scholars, exceeding this year’s goal by more than $25,000. This annual fundraiser raises funds to support Rainier Scholars and its mission to cultivate the academic potential and leadership skills of underrepresented students of color.

This year, the ninth-annual Bricks & Books auction took shape as a week-long online fundraising campaign. Skanska employees joined partners from the design and subcontractor community to support the campaign, with more than 60 firms participating, allowing the company to surpass its original goal of $225,000. “We are proud to continue our longstanding partnership with Rainier Scholars, furthering our support of the crucial work they do in providing educational and professional development opportunities to underrepresented students,” said Matt Sanborn, vice president of business development for Skanska USA Building operations in Seattle. “Our support and the support of all of Skanska’s industry partners who made generous donations is vital as we strive to foster positive change for low-income students. In adherence to our purpose and values, Skanska continues to seek out ways to support important community causes such as Rainier Scholars.”
