Skanska to Build 27-Story Office Tower in Boston’s Back Bay
Global construction and development firm Skanska has announced plans to build a 27-story office tower in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. The firm reportedly paid $177 million for the development site.
Located at 380 Stuart St., the 3,000-square-foot parcel is one of the neighborhood’s last remaining developable sites. Skanska plans to build a 625,000-square-foot building at the site. A vacant 144,000-square-foot building currently sites on the site, which is nearby Back Bay’s 62-story John Hancock skyscraper. Plans for the property call for ground-floor retail, below-ground parking and LEED Platinum certification.
“While Boston has proven to be a major hub with a strong tenant base in medical, education, life-sciences and finance, Back Bay is an ideal location to bring a new, modern and flexible office building to the community,” said Russell DeMartino, USA Executive Vice President at Skanska.
