Skanska has been selected to manage construction on two current projects by the San Gabriel and Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Conservancy

Skanska Tapped to Manage Construction on SELA Cultural Center, Compton Park

The San Gabriel and Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Conservancy (RMC) selected Skanska Integrated Solutions to provide construction management services for two of its current projects: the construction of the Gehry Partners-designed Southeast Los Angeles (SELA) Cultural Center in South Gate and the development of the Alondra Gateway Park in Compton.

The SELA Cultural Center is the first of seven signature projects to reach implementation from the Lower Los Angeles River Revitalization Plan, a comprehensive program aimed at transforming the Los Angeles River. Also representing a first is the Alondra Gateway Park, the initial park project from the Compton Creek Implementation Plan.

SIS will oversee the management of planning, scheduling, preconstruction, procurement and construction for both projects.

“The SELA Cultural Center exemplifies the kind of multi-benefit, community-driven revitalization projects our agency strives for along the Lower LA River,” said Mark Stanley, executive officer of the RMC.
