Skanska Starts Construction on Belltown Residential Tower

Skanska Starts Construction on Belltown Residential Tower

Development and construction firm Skanska will break ground this winter on Kaye, a 31-story multifamily tower in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle. The project will also feature 6,100 square feet of ground floor retail and neighborhood “living spaces” that will honor the site’s musical history. Kaye is expected to be completed by mid-2025.

“Skanska’s top priority is to add unique developments that elevate vibrant neighborhoods like Belltown with innovative designs that connect with the community,” said Skanska EVP Charlie Foushee. “Developing on a site that holds a special place in Seattle’s musical history brings us a unique opportunity to create an experience like no other in the city.”

The site was the former home of Studio X and Bad Animals recording studios, and Skanska will celebrate that history with a ground level living room offering band rehearsal space. Kaye will feature 324 units and will target Salmon-Safe, LEED Gold, Fitwel and WiredScore Gold certifications.
