Skanska Completes $49M Las Olas Beach Park Project

Construction and development firm Skanska has completed the $49 million Las Olas Beach Park in Fort Lauderdale Beach. The project includes a new 650-space parking garage, improved public spaces and interactive water features.

The 258,000-square-foot parking garage is adjacent to the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Las Olas Marina, and was designed by architecture and urban design firm EDSA Inc. It also has digital signage displaying parking space availability and an amenity deck offering views of downtown Fort Lauderdale and the intracoastal waterway. Construction on the project began in June of 2017.

“The delivery of the Las Olas Beach Park is an example of how transforming underused public spaces significantly benefits a community,” said Michael Brown, executive vice president for Skanska’s Florida Building operations. “Residents and visitors to the City of Fort Lauderdale will greatly benefit from the enhancements made to the beachfront park and plaza, as well as the addition of a much-needed parking garage.”
