Skansa US Houston HQ hits major milestone

Skanska USA Tops Out Houston Skyscraper

Commercial builder Skanska USA has reached the highly-touted milestone of “topping out” its planned 28 story building next to Discover Green in Downtown Houston. 1550 on the Green came with a cost of $225 million.

Skanska started work on the building in June of 2021 and hopes to finish it by year end. Law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has already agreed to a 15 year lease, taking up 30% of the available space. The building will feature 7,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor with the buildings lobby above it. Tenants will have access to a fitness center on the 12th and 20th floors. An outdoor terrace will serve as an event space on the 28th floor. The building is designed by architect, Bjarke Ingels Group.

The Nordic-based company is a construction and project development (including residential development and commercial property development) and investment properties with about 30,000 employees worldwide.
