Six-Acre Domino Park for Williamsburg
April 21, 2017
In summer 2017, a six-acre park will open on the waterfront in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. Developer Two Trees Management agreed to build Domino Park as part of its redevelopment of the 11-acre Domino Sugar factory.
“By opening Domino Park in its entirety next summer—ahead of the site’s new waterfront buildings—we are delivering on our commitment to bring waterfront access and much-needed public park space to North Brooklyn,” said Two Trees principal Jed Walentas.
James Corner Field Operations designed the new part. It’s the same landscape architecture firm that led the design of Manhattan’s High Line. The park will mix vistas and volleyball courts with artifacts of the factory like warehouse columns, massive cranes and other old gear.
