Simone Will Reposition Vacant LI Industrial
Simone Development Companies will reposition a recently acquired 60,000-square-foot warehouse/distribution property in Carle Place, NY to meet the demand for high-quality last-mile distribution facilities in western Nassau County, Long Island.
The company acquired the vacant property at 40 Voice Rd., longtime home of metal stamping firm Johnson& Hoffman, from Ansaco Properties LLC.
Simone will renovate the 58-year-old property to suit a single tenant, adding more loading docks and developing 2.75 acres of additional paved parking area.
“The demand for this type of space, particularly in Western Nassau County where inventory is sparse, was accelerating rapidly even before the COVID crisis,” said Jim MacDonald, VP of leasing and acquisitions at Simone Development. “Today, as online purchasing has become a necessity rather than a convenience, the demand is stronger than ever.”
The property is located near major highways and within 30 minutes of New York City airports.
