Simon Plans Revamp of Eastern LI’s Smith Haven Mall

Shopping center REIT Simon said Monday it would launch a multimillion-dollar project at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, NY, within Long Island’s Suffolk County. The major redevelopment will begin this summer and is expected to be completed in 2026. It will include a number of new marquee retailers, dining destinations, an outdoor plaza and amenities throughout the property.

Among the new additions will be fashion brand Zara in its first eastern Long Island store, Sur la Table and Golf Lounge 18. The redevelopment project will also feature notable improvements to the exterior and interior of the property, starting with an outdoor plaza that includes extensive new landscaping and seating areas.

“At Simon, we are committed to making significant investments across our portfolio to ensure that our centers continue to deliver exceptional customer experiences for today’s shoppers,” said Mark Silvestri, president of development at Simon.
