Silverstone Development, Kimpton Hotels to Revamp Historic Indianapolis Building

Silverstone Development announced the planned Fall 2026 opening of Kimpton Indianapolis. The opening will mark the brand’s debut under IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio in the Indianapolis market.

In collaboration with IHG, Silverstone is reimagining the historic space as a mixed-use, one-of-a-kind luxury destination. Situated at 1 North Pennsylvania Street, Kimpton Indianapolis Downtown will transform the long-standing property, converting it from an office space to a hotel featuring 167 guest rooms, a 15th-floor ballroom, a full-service restaurant, and a rooftop bar.

“At Silverstone, we strive to create authentic projects that serve the communities we’re part of, and Kimpton Indianapolis is a perfect fit to highlight Indy as a premier destination,” said Dale Johns, principal of Silverstone.

The building was the tallest high-rise in Indianapolis when it was built in 1908. Global architecture and design firm Gensler is overseeing the office-to-hotel conversion, which includes a full gut renovation and new fit-out on all levels, as well as an 18-story rooftop bar.
