Silverstein Partners with Rush Street for NYC Casino Bid

Silverstein Properties has brought in Rush Street Gaming as a partner in its bid for one of three downstate casino licenses. The casino would be part of Avenir, a mixed-use complex proposed for Manhattan’s Far West Side.

Rush Street would operate the Avenir and complement Silverstein’s existing gaming partner, Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, which will remain a partner, advisor and investor on the project. It wouldn’t be Rush Street’s first casino in New York State: it developed, owns and operates Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady.

“Our company has been part of the West Side for over 40 years, and we look forward to continuing to work together on a project that will bring much-needed jobs, tax revenue, economic development and affordable housing to the city and state,” said Lisa Silverstein, CEO of Silverstein Properties.

The shovel-ready site is a vacant parcel at 41st Street and Eleventh Avenue, owned and controlled by Silverstein Properties.
