Siemens Breaks Ground on $300M Advanced Healthcare Lab
Siemens broke ground on a $300-million expansion of a key Siemens Healthineers manufacturing and R&D facility for laboratory diagnostics in Walpole, MA. The facility is expected to create up to 700 new high-tech jobs over the next 10 years.
It is one of the largest single capital investments by Siemens Healthcare ever in the U.S. The company seeks to transform providers’ healthcare operations by solving system-wide and departmental challenges throughout the patient care journey with medical technology that offers solutions for disease prevention through diagnosis and treatment.
Siemens’ Michael Sen said, “Healthcare is changing all over the world, and these changes are opening up great opportunities for providers, for patients—and for our company.” He noted, that Siemens provides more than 10 billion laboratory diagnostics tests each year, and the new facility in Walpole will play a major role in extending its reach.
