SHVO Unveils Renovation Plans for Three Transamerica in San Francisco

SHVO and architects Foster + Partners continue the remake of the Iconic Transamerica Pyramid Center with an expansion and upgrade of historic Three Transamerica. The renovation includes revitalizing the nearly century-old building with a sustainable approach while preserving the spirit of the past.

The building is located at 545 Sansome St and is situated at the nexus between the Financial District and the smaller scale buildings of Jackson Square. Three Transamerica will be completely modernized, using double-height spaces to open up the building in addition to adding 50,000 square feet of office space.

Foster + Partners will preserve the integrity of the historic structure by restoring its two Art Deco facades and Norman Foster, the Founder and Executive Chairman of Foster + Partners said in a news release, “Three Transamerica is set to become a unique architectural addition to the Transamerica site that is wholly of its place and time.”
