ShopperTrak Relocates to Downsized Space at Old Post Office

ShopperTrak is joining the businesses moving their offices to 601W Companies’ redeveloped Old Post Office, signing a lease for a little more than half the size of its current space at Willis Tower nearby, Crain’s Chicago Business reported. The retail analytics company has signed a lease for 28,117 square feet, down from its current 52,000-square-foot Willis Tower space.

With the recent additions of ShopperTrak and Chicago-based tech company CoinFlip, the Old Post Office is now almost 90% leased, according to Telos Group, which handles leasing there. CBRE EVP Bill Sheehy represented ShopperTrak.

Crain’s reported that ShopperTrak’s move is both good news and bad news. The good news is that the company is making a new commitment to physical office space amid a pandemic that gutted demand for workspace and pushed vacancy to an all-time high. But ShopperTrak is also dramatically downsizing to adjust to the rise of remote work.
