Sheraton Austin Georgetown Obtains LEED Silver, New Construction Designation

The Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center achieved LEED Silver Certification for New Construction. The 222-room hotel at 1101 Woodlawn Ave. in Georgetown, TX, is the first continental U.S. Sheraton Hotel to earn the distinction. A joint venture between Hines and Novak Brothers developed the hotel.

The hotel opened in July 2016, and focused operating standards to include green housekeeping, integrated pest control and Energy Star Portfolio Management. In 2019, the hotel’s food and beverage outlets will eliminate the use of plastic straws.

The suburban Austin hotel is also part of Sheraton Hotels’ Make a Green Choice Program (MAGC). This sustainability and loyalty program enables guests to make green and sustainable choices, in exchange for loyalty points, food and beverage credits.

Connect Houston is taking place in February 2019. For more information — or to attend — click here.
