ShantiNiketan Moves Ahead on Adult Housing Community
ShantiNiketan, a developer of active-adult housing developments geared to those age 55 years or older, is under contract to acquire 10 acres in the master-planned community of Aliana, in Richmond, TX. The Florida-based developer is planning a multifamily project which, while open to all residents, caters to people of Indian origin. According to ShantiNiketan CEO Appaswamy Pajanor, approximately 80% of the company’s residents fall into that classification.
The idea is to provide a community for adults of Indian origin, though all residents are welcome. Curries are served at almost every dinner, while prayer rooms are on hand to accommodate daily prayers.
The Aliana project is anticipated to begin in 2019, and be open by June 2020. Pajanor said the Florida-based company will also be underway on another Houston-area community, and is planning 24 communities around the U.S., including in Dallas.
