ServiceNow Seeks Downtown Facility Space for Midwest Expansion

An Evanston native is bringing ServiceNow, his cloud computing company, to Chicago, where plans are to hire 150 tech specialists within the next two years.

The Santa Clara, CA-based company that makes business-automation software, chose Chicago over several other cities for its latest facility. It is starting out in a Fulton Square co-working space, as it looks for permanent space downtown.

“We were asking ourselves, how do you attract and retain the best technology and engineering talent?” ServiceNow CEO John Donahoe, a New Trier High School graduate who was formerly CEO of eBay, told Crain’s Chicago Business. “There are an awful lot of outstanding graduates coming out of the engineering schools in the Midwest, and many of them have a preference for staying in the Midwest.”

ServiceNow employs about 6,200 people worldwide.
