Serenbe Looking to Add Hotel, Apartments

A self-proclaimed wellness community 40 miles southwest of Atlanta seeks to expand. Set in Chattahoochee Hills, the Atlanta Business Journal reports that the developers of Serenbe are considering a $1.7 billion addition that could add hundreds of new residences, hotel rooms, and civic and commercial space.

Plans include 97 “aging-in-place” units, ranging from single-family homes to townhouses and apartments, along with a 110-key hotel, restaurant, and wellness and medical services.

The goal is to complete those elements by 2029.

Two years ago, Fulton County’s economic development authority granted an $11 million tax break to the roughly $300 million expansion component, which includes the aging-in-place campus and new hotel rooms.

A future phase could include an office building with retail, a 70-key hotel and hundreds of new residences. Construction is expected to be finished by 2035.

Today, Serenbe spans about 600 residential units, an inn, eight restaurants, 30 retailers and an organic farm in a community connected by walking trails.
