Sentury Tire Seeks Developer for $530M Plant Near Atlanta
Sentury Tire, one of China’s biggest tire makers, plans to develop a $530-million plant in LaGrange, GA, outside of Atlanta. The company is seeking a developer to handle a 1.7 million-square-foot build-to-suit property to house a cutting-edge tire manufacturing facility capable of producing 30,000 tires a day.
The developer would put up the capital to construct a $200-million building to Sentury’s specifications. The developer will own the property, and Sentury plans to sign a roughly 25-year sale-leaseback agreement, and spend more than $300 million in outfitting the plant.
It will be the company’s third plant, and first outside of Asia. State-of-the-art technology will allow Sentury Tire to produce tires more efficiently and sell them at an affordable price. The smart manufacturing factory will generate more than 1,000 jobs.
JLL’s Todd Torok is leading marketing efforts, along with Bill Cavagnaro and Michael Carpenter, who are sourcing financing alternatives for potential developers.
