Senior Executive Departs Irvine Company
Irvine Company’s Dan Young is leaving the Newport Beach, CA-based firm at the end of the month to start a development company called Camino Enterprises. Young, who’s spent 16 years at the company, was viewed by many as a successor to company owner, Donald Bren.
In his role as president of its community development division, Young guided all facets of community master-planning and the development process. Those responsibilities included oversight of the company’s portfolio of 130 apartment communities, adding up to nearly 60,000 apartment homes in San Diego, Orange County, West Los Angeles and the Silicon Valley.
Young led Irvine’s residential home building division since 2007, and is returning to his entrepreneurial roots, but plans to remain as an adviser to Bren.
