Seefried Snags 75-Acre SoCal Site, Plans 1.5M-SF Amazon Facility
Atlanta-based Seefried Industrial Properties acquired 75 acres in Oxnard from Sakioka Farms and AMS Craig, LLC. for an undisclosed amount. The buyer plans to develop a 1.5-million-square-foot fulfillment center for Amazon within Sakioka Farms Business Park.
The 430-acre property at the southeast corner of Rice Avenue and the 101 freeway, is one of the last large pieces of land in the city of Oxnard with the potential for development. The Amazon project is anticipated to be fully operational by the end of 2021.
Sakioka Farms’ Jeremy Sakioka says, “We are excited to kick off the first phase of our park with a regional Amazon distribution center and a locally owned, state-of-the-art, cold storage facility.”
Newmark’s John DeGrinis, SIOR, Patrick DuRoss, SIOR and Jeff Abraham, SIOR represented the sellers. Cushman & Wakefield represented the buyer.
DeGrinis says, “This transaction validates the strength of the Ventura County industrial market and its labor force and will significantly bolster the local economy, creating approximately 1,500 jobs.”
