SeaWorld Faces More Trouble

SeaWorld continues to have problems, despite the hundreds of millions the company is spending on its real estate expansion. Other than the flagship theme park in San Diego, SeaWorld operates 11 facilities in San Antonio, Orlando and additional cities across the country.

After bad publicity and accusations of mistreatment of orcas and their trainers following the documentary “Blackfish”, the firm now has financial issues.

SeaWorld Entertainment had an 84 percent earnings loss year over year during its second quarter. Income was reported at $5.8 million over the period, down from $37.4 million. Revenue also dropped 3 percent, and attendance reportedly fell 1.6 percent from the previous year.
