Seattle Development Site Near UW Listed

The Talaris Campus, a 17.8-acre development site in Seattle’s Laurelhurst neighborhood, is for sale. CBRE Capital Markets’ Tom Pehl, Lou Senini and Dean Johnson have listed the property.

CBRE’s Pehl says, “This is one of the largest contiguous, privately owned properties in the City of Seattle.” He expects the property will draw interest for a variety of uses, ranging from education-based, medical or single-family residential.

The Talaris Institute, which took over the campus in 2000, conducts early childhood development research. The group was acquired by Teaching Strategies in 2012. Since then, Columbia Hospitality has managed the property.

Located near the Univ. of Washington campus, the site includes office and conference facilities, a banquet area, and both short- and long-term residential structures, in addition to the developable land. The property was originally developed in the 1960s as the Pacific Northwest research campus for the Battelle Memorial Institute.
