Sears, Target Opening Bay Area “Smart” Stores
Sears and Target are both debuting specialty stores in the Bay Area that feature devices which will make appliances and other home accessories more digitally connected.
Sears opened its 4,000-square-foot ‘Connected Solutions’ flagship store at The Shops at Tanforan in San Bruno, the heart of Silicon Valley. It’s the second Connected Solutions store the retailer has opened, following one in Chicago. Sears will also have dedicated departments in some of its larger stores featuring these smart-home technology products.
Meanwhile, Target opened the 3,500-square-foot ‘Target Open House’ at the Metreon Center in San Francisco, which sells similar smart-home technology products.
