Former homeless shelter to become Scottsdale Boutique hotel

Scottsdale Hotel to Receive Serious Upgrade

The hotel space made up of two buildings at 7300 N. Pima is used by Scottsdale to house the homeless. Andre Golnazarian, who has redeveloped numerous properties in the Phoenix area, is going to change that. He bought the space for $6 million back in 2021 and has big plans for it. He plans to knock down the smaller building and add a bigger one across Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. Golnazarian told the Daily Independent, “We’re investing upward of $20 million into the property if you include the land purchase so it’s going to be a brand new boutique hotel with security.” The City of Scottsdale has moved the residents into similar housing elsewhere.

It will have 84 rooms. 50 will be brand new. 34 will be renovated from the lone remaining building. Called The George Hotel, amenities will include a fitness studio, an outdoor cafe, a new pool as well as improvements to the parking.

Golnazarian has brought on Fors Architecture + Interiors to design the hotel.
