Scottsdale, AZ Airport to Receive $25M Makeover

The Scottsdale City Council has approved initial plans to upgrade and renovate Scottsdale Airport. The plan, which will be financed through $25.2 million in city-issued bonds, calls for redeveloping the 1970s terminal area. Also in the plan is the demolition of older structures, to make way for two 30,000-square-foot executive hangers and an aviation business center.

Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2017, with completion planned for April 2018. The airport was the 21st busiest general-aviation airport in the nation last year, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
