Quorum Health Corp. entered into a definitive agreement to sell Scenic Mountain Medical Center, a 146-bed hospital in Big Spring, TX. The buyer was undisclosed, and the Brentwood, TN-based seller anticipates the transaction to close by the end of Q1 2019.

The 44-year-old West Texas medical center, at 1601 W. 11^th Place, is among five facilities discussed under a Letter of Intent at the company’s Q3 2018 earnings conference call. Cash proceeds from the transaction will be used to repay outstanding principal on Quorum Health’s term loan facility.

Quorum Health — and 38 hospitals — was spun off from Community Health Systems in 2015. CHS, also headquartered in Brentwood, provided Quorum Health with smaller-market hospitals, shifting its attention to large markets and regional networks.
