ScanTech Breaks Ground on 100K SF
ScanTech Sciences Inc. launched construction on its first Electronic Cold-Pasteurization TM (ECPTM) food treatment center at 6800 International Pkwy. in McAllen, TX. The new facility, which will be fully operational by Q1 2018, will bring more than 175 jobs to the area.
ScanTech Sciences will use the 100,000-square-foot facility for its patented cold-pasteurization technology, to improve quality and safety for produce along the food chain. ScanTech works with customers throughout the food supply chain, from growers and packers, to distributors and retailers.
ScanTech’s plan is to transform an already existing warehouse into a cross-dock facility that offers a state-of-the-art produce handling system. The company will also build out an adjoining structure to house the ECP treatment system.
