Sarasota Lands Margaritaville-Branded Hotel
Floridays Development is heading up a team to bring a four-story, 120-key Compass Hotel by Margaritaville to Tampa. The Tampa Bay Business Journal reports that the project, at 120 Bayview Drive, will adopt Evie’s at Spanish Point restaurant and tiki bar to be part of the waterfront hotel.
Construction is expected to start within the next 45 days, and it will take 15 months to build out. The hotel could open sometime next fall.
Compass Hotels by Margaritaville are upscale boutique hotels under the same brand family as the popular Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville hotels and resorts but are smaller in size and offer fewer food and beverage options.
The hotel’s ground floor will have a bar and dining area as well as a banquet space just under 2,000 square feet.
Stellar Sarasota is the general contractor. Miles Beach of Miles architecture group is the architect of record.
