Santa Ana’s Nineteen01 Debuts SoCal’s First Autonomous Convenience Store
Tustin-based Greenwood & McKenzie says it has opened SoCal’s first autonomous store, QuickEats Close Convenience from Aramark at its Nineteen01 multifamily project in Santa Ana. The store uses computer vision cameras and sensors to create a fully automated, frictionless, self-guided shopping experience.
Greenwood & McKenzie’s Jim McKenzie says, “We first launched QuickEats in March for our tenants at Nineteen01, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Our tenants were able to social distance while buying necessities without having to leave the property.”
Nineteen01 is a 264-unit luxury apartment community at 1901 E. 1st St. The convenience store features a variety of fresh and specialty items, such as Pressed Juicery juices, coconut water, grab-and-go sandwiches, cheese plates, and fruit as well as assorted beverages. In addition, it offers household items like cleaning products, toilet paper, dog food, and other goods.
