San Manuel Nation Acquires Full Ownership of Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach

The San Manuel Investment Authority, through its affiliated entities, has acquired full ownership of Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club in Dana Point. The resort, a consistent recipient of the AAA Five-Diamond Award, Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Award and other accolades, serves as a cornerstone non-gaming resort within the San Manuel Nation’s luxury destination portfolio.

Terms weren’t disclosed. When the San Manuel Investment Authority acquired a 40% stake in the resort from Ohana Real Estate Investors in 2023, the property reportedly was valued at about $600 million.

Hilton will continue to manage operations of Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach. Similarly, Troon will continue managing operations of Monarch Beach Golf Links.

Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach features 400 guest rooms and suites, a wide array of restaurants, Waldorf Astoria Spa & Salon, three pools, access to an exclusive beach club, a Robert Trent Jones, Jr.-designed golf course and 120,000 square feet of event space.
