San Jose’s Google Village Scope Widens
The scope of the proposed Google Village in downtown San Jose is expanding with the addition of two more sites. An affiliate of Trammel Crow, TC Agoge, paid $1.3 million for the properties near the Diridon train station and the SAP entertainment center.
The properties include a residential site at 195 N. Autumn St. that was acquired for $650,000. TC Agoge also paid $650,000 for a vacant lot at 551 W. Julian St., that was held by a government entity overseen by the city of San Jose.
Mountain View-based Google envisions developing up to eight million square feet of offices on downtown San Jose’s west side to house as many as 20,000 workers. Since December 2016, Google and the Trammell Crow entity have spent a combined $150.1 million to obtain 23 parcels from an array of private owners and public entities.
