San Francisco Planning Commission Okays Three Transamerica Plan

SHVO said Tuesday it had secured unanimous approval for the redevelopment and expansion of Three Transamerica at 545 Sansome St. during a joint meeting of San Francisco’s Parks Department and Planning Commission. The approval represents a milestone in the $400-million reimagining of Transamerica Pyramid Center, which SHVO and Deutsche Finance acquired for $650 million in 2020.

Three Transamerica is a 1930s Art Deco structure that forms a pivotal gateway to Transamerica Pyramid Center from Washington and Sansome streets. SHVO said the new design will see the building’s interior modernized while preserving the integrity of the historic structure and will include a 220-foot expansion.

“We are grateful for the resounding support we have received from the Parks Department and Planning Commission, as well as the local community, for the expansion and redevelopment of Three America,” said Michael Shvo, chairman and CEO of New York-based SHVO.
