San Francisco Okays Warriors Chase Center Hotel MXU Complex
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors approved the NBA’s Golden State Warriors plan to develop a mixed-use hotel and condominium project at Chase Center in Mission Bay. A 129-room hotel with condos and retail space would be built at the 11-acre project site, near South Street and Terry A. Francois Boulevard.
The property would be branded as a 1 Hotel and operated by Starwood Capital Group’s SH Hotels & Resorts. The 13-story complex would include 20,000 square feet of retail, as well as 21 condos on the upper five floors. The complex also would include meeting and ballroom facilities, a spa and fitness center, and three restaurants.
The development plan envisioned breaking ground in the first half of next year, with completion anticipated by 2023. The team will evaluate the timing based on when it is prudent to move forward due to the coronavirus pandemic.
