San Diego East Village Redevelopment Plan Unveiled
Navarra Properties plans to transform a major portion of its downtown San Diego holdings into a creative/tech campus dubbed [email protected]. The multi-phase development on a roughly 2.75-acre East Village site is bounded by E, F, 14th and 15th streets.
Phase One features the Warehouse, a 100,000-square-foot conversion of two former Jerome’s warehouses into creative office space. Phase Two is planned as a 450,000-square-foot, 17-story contemporary office building.
The SuperBlock project will be managed by a joint venture between Lowe and David Malmuth Development. Cushman & Wakefield’s Derek Hulse and Philip Roberts will handle the leasing assignment.
Hulse says, “There is strong demand among tenants for incredibly unique and efficient office space within our urban core. San Diego lacks a supply of older warehouses that are typically ideal for this type of creative conversion, so to have the opportunity to deliver this type of product to the market on two, full city blocks is unprecedented.”
