San Diego County Employment Boosted By Hospitality
The unemployment rate in San Diego County is looking great. At only 4.8 percent in April, it’s the lowest the region has witnessed in about eight years.
It’s also a jump from the 5.1-percent rate posted in March and the 6.1 percent reported during the same year-ago period. Overall, California currently has a 6.1-percent unemployment rate.
The increase has been credited for a boost in jobs in the financial and professional services, which added 8,200 positions year over year, as well as the restaurant and bar sector’s boast of 6,300 new employees.
Do you think San Diego County can keep up the momentum, and is the local economy really on a sustainable rebound?
