San Antonio’s Auto Industry Lands Big Prize
They’ve landed a Toyota manufacturing plant and the restart of DeLorean. San Antonio’s auto manufacturing industry is expanding and Brooks will be the site for a new electric vehicle parts manufacturing plant.
The San Antonio Business Journal reports the name of the company won’t be disclosed until it gets closer to move in, but officials with Transwestern Real Estate Services and Cambridge Development confirm that it will occupy more than 150,500 square feet in a new Brooks Global Crossing building currently under construction.
Brooks Global Crossing is a class A industrial campus under development on the site of the former Air Force base. The auto parts manufacturer will occupy all of Building 2.
The Brooks Global Crossing structure that this new company will occupy is scheduled to be completed by the second quarter of 2024. Building 1, already available for lease, includes a 663,280-square-foot cross-dock design with 130 dock doors, 40-foot clear heights, and abundant car and trailer parking.
