Weston Urban hoping to turn Koehler House into hotel/restaurant

San Antonio Landmark to Become Boutique Hotel/Restaurant

The San Antonio City Council voted to allow developer Weston Urban to move forward on its plans to convert The Koehler House into a restaurant and hotel. The historic house, as 310 West Ashby Place, was built by Pearl Brewery founder Otto Koehler in 1901. Previously owned by Alamo Colleges, Weston Urban bought The Koehler House for $2,037,800 in February 2022.

The San Antonio Business Journal report the site plans filed with the city outline the company’s intention to restore the main house, convert the two-story carriage house into a restaurant, restore a greenhouse and construct a new pavilion.

The move represents the firm’s first major project outside of the downtown area, where its project pipeline includes 300 Main and the redevelopment of the Continental Hotel. Weston Urban also converted the old Savoy Hotel into a 31,000 square foot retail and office building and converted the historic Dry Goods building in an office/retail combo, as well.
