San Antonio Industrial Sector Remains Robust in 2018

Closing in on the end of Q2 2018, the San Antonio industrial sector remains robust so far. According to information released by NAI Partners, 418,614 square feet of space has been delivered, with the year-to-date net absorption at 222,297 square feet. Vacancy also continued inching downward in May 2018 at 5.7%, versus the 6% reported the month before. β€œIn a tight market, leasing activity is at 1 million square feet, year to date,” NAI Partners noted.

Also robust? Industrial investment sales. Based on Real Capital Analytics data, sales of major industrial properties in the metro grew by 62% from the year before. The buyer composition consisted of 60% REIT/listed investors, 23% private buyers and 17% cross border.
